Column Table
Slab-built in stoneware, this structured piece is formed using a large press mold over several days, with internal supports added for stability. Once removed from the mold, it is allowed to firm up before being carefully carved to achieve its sharp edges. After drying for several weeks, the column is bisque-fired, then glazed with a mirror-effect finish, and finally fired again to complete the process.

About the artist
A recent graduate of the Royal College of Art, Helena explores how natural movements shape and transform materials, balances structure with unpredictability, and uses experimental glazing and printing techniques to mirror nature’s shifting patterns. She sees the kiln as an active collaborator, letting chance and transformation guide each piece.
