Shining a Light On

To many of you, Gail Dooley will need no introduction, having been a valued member of our community of artists and makers for many years. With spring in the air and a renewed appreciation for nature, it feels the perfect moment to shine a light on Gail and her extraordinary ceramic sculptural mirrors, lovingly created in her Yorkshire studio. Inspired by the sea, the natural world, and wildfowl, Gail produces whimsical yet lifelike pieces that many of our clients say possess a soul of their own, bringing a distinctive presence to any space.

I first discovered Gail’s work over a decade ago in her brother Glen’s inspiring antique shop in downtown Manhattan. I was immediately struck by both the originality and craftsmanship of her pieces. Though contemporary in spirit, they sat effortlessly within Glen’s beautifully curated collection, which ranged from Louis XVI antiques to mid-century design.

It is a real pleasure to celebrate this long-standing collaboration with such an exceptional artist.
